The Dabney in Washington, D.C.

Equipment supplied by Singer / Ashland

Specifying team: Sheila Bryan, John Requard, Katie Huber

When Chef Jeremiah Langhorne laid the framework for The Dabney, he knew he would need a kitchen that spoke to excellence. Partnering with The Design Difference to specify equipment and Singer Equipment Company to supply and install it, The Dabney team curated and executed a plan for success.

The exterior was designed by architecture firm Streetsense to evoke an 1800’s carriage house and stable. A cozy welcome awaits you inside, where you will be immersed in an honest, farm-to-table experience.

An open kitchen layout suggests and requires confidence in the services provided—every move the kitchen staff makes is exposed to the dining room. The Dabney exudes that confidence humbly; at the center of its kitchen is a wooden worktop pass-through and a custom hearth oven (provided by the owner) stationed underneath a Captive-Aire hood system.

Behind the scenes, the kitchen is supplied with Continental worktops and reach-in refrigerators, as well as a ThermalRite walk-in to support Langhorne’s seasonal menu. Custom fabrication from Stainless Works and John Boos dish tables, sinks and shelving help create the kitchen flow.

The Dabney has gone for greatness and achieved it, earning a Michelin star along the way!
