Springfield Culinary and Nutrition Center, Springfield, MA


This nutrition center will serve as a one-site location for the daily preparation, cooking and baking of fresh foods for Springfield students. The School Department provides a free breakfast and lunch program for students, funded by the U.S. Department of Agriculture. A first of its kind in this area, the facility will provide about 60,000 meals to students each day. The state-of-the-art facility has multiple kitchens, a large bakery, a cook/chill area, a cutting/prep walk-in, a root vegetable prep room, a dish room, dry and refrigerated walk-in storage areas, and a training room for students.
